My point (and I substantiated it here https://www.makeworkbetter.info/p/no-one-is-listening-to-your-bosss?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web) was that most people don’t pay £20 a week to get to the office. Rather they pay more than that a day. And so as a result office time needs to be able to prove its worth. I’m a strong fan of office time if it fosters togetherness but I’m not convinced we need it every day. 3 times a week seems plenty.
My team in London certainly paid more than that, £30 a day on £25k salaries. When I went down to one day a week for costs I insisted my team did the same. But in regional roles in towns, it will be cheaper. I really hope more work gets pushed out of London so it’s more accessible.
I think in most knowledge working offices 3 days a week would be fine but like I said there will still be places my my current employer (a collection of ports) where most of the workers will be on site so the choice is made for everyone to be. I remember Elon Musk saying similar, and while I’m not a fan of his, I think the equality piece works.
Thank you for the shout out ❤️
